This weekend house was made was made to mirror an existing house, left by the family’s grandfather, in the same town.  I took the design from 1972 and placed it on top of a stone base. I then covered the top walls with a material called chukum made with sand, typical of Mexico, and the stone was also sourced from the surrounding area. I chose these materials to better integrate the house to its surroundings. The house aims to be part of its place, not imposing itself, but being one with its environment.
